Bneu
Bio

Brett Neuman (Bneu) is originally from Durango, a small town in the southwestern tip of Colorado. A drummer from an early age, and many talent show victories later, he was inspired by his older brother to start playing guitar. This transition opened the doors for him to develop his roots as a songwriter, and his early influences  were blues/rock/pop groups such as the Yardbirds, Buffalo Springfield and the Beatles.

Neuman spent four years at the University of Colorado in Boulder where he quickly formed a band and began playing everything from house parties to bars in the college scene. He started performing as the lead vocalist and guitar player for the soul/rock group "The Current" that he and long time childhood friend, Trevor Ehlers, had formed. Shortly after, Neuman teamed up with MC Chris Z to form "The Rapscallions," a live performing hip-hop/ rock band. It was around this time that Neuman also began playing with guitarist Rob Fulton to form the Rock/Funk Trio "Petty Swalms." He eventually worked his way up from playing small venues to working with well-known acts at some of the larger venues in the Boulder/Denver area.

As he puts it into perspective, "It has really been a humbling experience to have worked with so many talented people over the years. It's helped me to develop an elaborate bag of tricks."

When he saw it was a time for a change, Neuman relocated to the rolling hills of Lookingglass, Oregon and set up a recording studio on a 60-acre ranch to record what would be his first full-length solo album, "Nice little town to come down." These sessions would give birth to a unique blend of styles ranging from acoustic folk, indie rock and blues.

After moving closer to the Portland area, Neuman continues to play acoustically as well as with longtime friends, Andy Phillips and Conor Apperson,  in venues ranging from The Wow Hall to the Oregon Garden Resort.

He is currently working on his second studio album and resides in Silverton, Oregon.
